Shock

The biggest shock of the film was when ram Gopal Verma announced it with Ravi Teja and Jyothika in the leads. Nobody expected them to be paired together. But with Ram Gopal Verma you come to expect the unexpected.

And sure you can in Shock. Directed by Harish, Shock will be a typical film from RG Verma stable clutter-free, high production values and classy entertainment.

Verma has always been impressed with Ravi Teja's sincerity and spirit. He has been admirer of Ravi Teja right from his Idiot days. So when he decided to make a film in his mother tongue (Telugu) after a long gap, he knew the hero had to be Ravi Teja.

Fresh after the success of dubbed films like Chandramukhi, Manmadhan, Jyothika was a surprise choice for the heroine's role. But the cherubic actress is a splendid performer and is unassuming.

In fact, Jyothika has also been so impressed with story that she has decided to make the Tamil version herself.

Tabu, that splendid actress with splendid structure, plays a very crucial in the film. She is one of the many surprises in the film.

Director Harish himself is another surprise. Ravi Teja himself handpicked him to wield the megaphone. Harish had worked as assistant director in Ravi Teja's films before.

Verma was also suitably impressed with Harish's abilities. There is a stamp of quality in his work, Verma says of Harish's ability after seeing the film's rushes. Harish is a hands on kind of man as he has involved himself in every part of filmmaking (including designing the brochures).

Harish says the film is not a horror genre. It is full of fun and entertainment. It is about a man whose life is changed after he falls in love with a girl. There is a series of shocking incidents that unravel one by one leading to a thrilling climax. Tabu plays the role of a journalist in the film.

Suresh Kondeti, whose smart publicity for Premiste was one of the main reasons for the film's success, is the co-producer of the film. He is also aggressively promoting the film.

Shock is slated for release in January.
