For the re-release of 24 years old film ‘Muthanna’ Dr Shivarajakumar in double role producer Somanna and his son Chirag have spent Rs.30 lakhs for new sound technology. The film is hitting silver screen on 13th of October in over 30 theatres. Somanna emotional while speaking to media on his re release stated that the film in 1994 was made in Rs.1.10 crore and it was the first outside banner cinema of hat trick hero Shivarajakumar.
Somanna after a small profit sold the film to Gokulraj and the profits did not reach him for his 100 days film. He had to be content with distribution of other language films in his career. He has distributed over 200 films in a career of two and half decades.
It is the first double role film, Smt Geetha Shivarajakumar made debut as costume designer, this is the debut of Nirupama Shivarajakumar to film, Hamsalekha in music for the song Muthanna Peepi Oodida 80 violins have been used. Cameraman Madhusoodhan used two cameras, it is the debut of stunt director from Chennai ‘Raji Rajesh’ film is ‘Muthanna’.
Dr Shivarajakumar is watching the new technology film on coming Sunday at Kapali theatre. Meanwhile another film with Dr Shivarajakumar is planned by Sommanna. He made ‘Raja’ after this Muthanna success.
Dr Shivarajakumar in double role 1994 Kannada film ‘Muthanna’ a remake of Mamnmohan Desai ‘Sachcha Jhutha’ of 1970 was received well in Sri Kaveri Amma Films. Producer L Somanna Gowda roped in Nada Brahma Hamsalekha for music and veteran MS Rajashekhar for ‘Muthanna’ – the songs turned out to be super hit. Nooru Nooru Kohinooru....and Muthanna Peepi Udida....are popular songs.
Now the same ‘Muthanna’ is reappearing with latest technology of 7.1 Dolby systems and 4K UHD technology.
Supriya and Sneha played female lead. Bhavyasri Rai played sister in the film. Doddanna, Shashikumar, Master Chirag, Satyajith and others were in the supporting roles.
