Shilpa Shetty after winning the Global Diversity Award along with the ace Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton in London has helped to raise 63,000 pounds for a charity organization called as The Silver Star Appeal.

The organization helps the diabetes patients by making available to them mobile diabetes assessment units.

The NRI Labour MP, Keith Vaz is the person who started the charity last year when he was diagnosed as a diabetes patient and decided to do something for the people suffering from the disease.

On Tuesday night, Shilpa wooed the audience with an offer of a kiss to anyone who like to spend their money for the cause of charity in return for a dinner with the British Prime Minister Gordown Brown at Wembley.

But remembering the chaos the different organizations in India acting as the moral police had created when she was kissed by the Hollywood star Richard Gere on the stage during an event to create awareness on AIDS in New Delhi last year, Shipa made it quite clear that she do not want to see her effigies burnt in the street and the kiss will be given on the cheek.

Eventually a man who decided on parting with 12,500 pounds became the winner and got not one but three kisses from Shilpa.

The money raised from the charity auction will be utilized for buying a mobile diabetes unit.

Another item on the offer during the charity auction night was the "Bollywood Dreams".

Prakash Lohia, who is the chairperson of the multinational company Indorama won this auction and thus got a chance to go to India and meet megastar Amitabh Bachchan and also bagged the offer of having tea with Sir Richard Stagg, the British High Commissioner to India in New Delhi.

Prakash Lohia won the auction having offered 25,000 pounds.
