Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra was recently arrested for running a pornography ring. The nature of the news caused every media house to jump on it and publish whatever they got without verifying it. Several media houses and news outlets also included Shilpa's name among the culprits. In response to this, Shilpa has filed a case against 29 media personnel and media houses for propagating false news and ruining her public image.

A news outlet reported, "Actor Shilpa Shetty has filed defamation suit in Bombay High Court against 29 media personnel & media houses for 'doing false reporting & maligning her image' in a pornography case in which her husband Raj Kundra is accused. Hearing in the case scheduled for tomorrow."

The actress demanded an unconditional apology, removal of all the defamatory content and a sum of 25 crore rupees. She alleged that actions of the accused have tarnished her image in the eyes of her fans, society and potential business partners.
