After making her debut last year in 'Kola Kolaya Mundhiraka', a comedy caper, Shika was on a hibernation mode. The actress is now back in Kollywood with a couple of projects, and is happy about her roles in them.

"I am currently acting in Odi Vaa and Padam Paarthu Kadhai Sol. Both are interesting scripts and have meaty roles to play. In fact, I was waiting all these days for such kind of roles. This is the reason behind a short break," she says.

Saying that some run-of-the-mill type of roles, including offers to shake legs in item songs, came her way, Shika says she said a firm no to those ideas. "I want to do characters which would bring out the actress in me," she says.

In Kannada, Shika played a crucial role in a film titled 'Mayadhantha Male', which is about father-daughter relationship. "My target is Kollywood, where I would like to carve a niche for myself," she concludes.
