Actress Deepika Padukone and her upcoming film 'Pathan' have been facing severe backlash for last couple days due to a really trivial issue. Apparently a song featuring her and Shahrukh Khan from 'Pathan' was released recently and some people found it offensive that the actress was wearing an orange bikini in it. Recently, actress Sherlyn Chopra also slammed Deepika and even called her a sympathiser of the "tukde tukde gang".
Sherlyn, who herself is known for her semi nude and sexually provocative photoshoots, told India Today, "I completely agree with Narottam Mishra ji, Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh, who upon being asked about Aamir Khan doing Kalash Pooja and Shah Rukh Khan offering prayers to Vaishnodevi Maa, said that people can offer prayers to whomsoever they believe in but at the same time, they must be mindful of other peoples’ beliefs and sentiments.”
She concluded by saying, "Deepika Padukone, the sympathiser of Tukde Tukde gang gyrating in a saffron coloured bikini in a film song titled ‘Besharam Rang’ is most certainly not acceptable to the millions of Hindus who consider saffron as the colour of purity, faith & devotion."
Directed by Abhishek Pathak and also starring John Abraham, 'Pathan' is set to release on 25th of January next year.
