Nandamuri Balakrishna has said that the passing away of J Jayalalitha has saddened him. Saying that she left an indelible mark in the fields of cinema and politics, he recalled that the late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu had acted opposite his father.

Balayya described as extra-ordinary getting elected to the post of Chief Minister six times.

The actor said that Jayalalitha was a rare woman leader who was an exemplar in putting up a fighting spirit. "Her death is an irreparable loss. I pray that her soul rests in peace," Balakrishna said.
