'Shatamanam Bhavati': Pulling off a feat

On a day when his production 'Cheliyaa' has hit the screens, Dil Raju's banner heard the news that 'Shatamanam Bhavathi' has been adjudged the Best Popular Film by the National Awards committee. (Note: The film hit the screens this year, but the Censor was completed last year, which is why it was included under last year).
A blockbuster which earned more than three times its budget, it became instantly popular among family audiences. In his interview to IndiaGlitz, director Satish Vegesna, when asked if he was expecting a National Award for the movie, said that that would be a bonus.
Before the high recognition, 'SB' got the appreciation of the likes of K Viswanath (who advised the makers to send the film to the jury), Dasari Narayana Rao and K Rahgavendra Rao.
