Sharwanand donates his eyes

  • IndiaGlitz, [Monday,August 15 2011]

It is now the turn of Prasthanam star Sharwanand to donate an important body organ of his, that is to say, the eyes, to Little Ways Foundation. He has said that he felt an urge to do his bit for the noble cause being propagated and carried by the not-for-profit organisation.

In the past, many actors have pledged their body organs for one organisation or another. However, the trend is not as commonplace here in the South as it is in Bollywood. Right from Aishwarya Rai to Rani Mukherjee, a bevy of Hindi film talent have pledged their eyes etc.

In the South, Kollywood stars like Vikram have pledged their eyes. Actress Sneha is another film personality who had volunteered for the cause.

With actors like Raasi and Sharwanand pledging their eyes, will the trend pick up in Tollywood too?
