The Kareena Kapoor-starrer "Crew" had a notable box office performance earlier this year. Sharmila Tagore, Kareena's mother-in-law, recently offered her opinions on the movie during a discussion on the YouTube channel "Dil Se Kapil Sibal." She called the plot of the movie "absurd," but she gave compliments on the friendship of the three female leads—Kareena, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon.
Sharmila cited "Crew" as an example of how movies have evolved and how they depict women. "It is ridiculous, beyond imagination," she said, "but three ladies are completing this journey. One is breaking a safe, one is landing a plane; they are performing all kinds of things together. Though they say a woman is a woman's worst enemy, not here, their friendship is outstanding.
Kareena further underlined that "Crew" was a commercial success as well as fun. She expressed hope that the popularity of the movie might open doors for improved roles and movies for female actors. "Crew has performed rather well. Three ladies are accomplishing amazing things, and the box office performance is quite outstanding. This will inspire creators of more women-centric films, she said.
Released on March 29, the heist comedy "Crew" was directed by Rajesh A Krishnan. The movie tracks the path three diligent women in the aviation sector go. Playing air host ships battling unpaid pay are Kareena, Tabu, and Kriti. Their lives change as they come upon dead passenger smuggling gold biscuits. Made under Balaji Telefilms and Anil Kapoor Film & Communications Network, the movie topped ₹100 crore at the Indian box office.
