Upcoming comedy drama 'Sharmaji Namkeen' is making headlines for multiple reasons. It has a sentimental value for being the last on-screen performance of late actor Rishi Kapoor and apart from that, fans are also intrigued to see two actors (other one being Paresh Rawal) playing the same role in it.
In a recent media interaction, director Hitesh Bhatia talked about the scene which turned out to be the last shot of Rishi Kapoor's life. "The last scene we shot with Chintu ji was a kulfi scene. And it is such an amazing sequence to recall," he told The Indian Express.
Hitesh shared that Rishi Kapoor insisted on giving a close up shot against the former's wish one day and that shot turned out to be the last one of his career. He stated, "The last shot that he ever gave, I didn’t want to take a close-up. I was like, ‘We don’t need the close-up. We are done with the scene. Let’s wrap it.’ Chintu ji, who never insists, wanted me to take the close-up as he believed it will add to the scene."
Hitesh concluded by saying, "The light was going badly. So, he asked the DOP to make the close-up happen no matter what. And eventually, we did the shot, not knowing it will become the last shot of his life."
