Actor Shanthnu’s upcoming film, ‘Raavana Kottam’, is all set to hit the screens tomorrow (May 12). Vikram Sugumaran, who is known for making the critically acclaimed film ‘Madhayaanai Kootam’, directed this rural action drama produced by the Kannan Ravi Group.
The film revolves around the communal problem between two villages. Recently, some criticised that the movie will be against certain communities even before the official theatrical release. Now, the producers have put out an official statement clarifying that Raavana Kottam will not hurt any sentiments. The press release reads:
“Raavana Kottam film crew explanatory report!
We have made our movie Raavana Kotam only as a story based on our landscape to instil love in humanity. Produced by producer Kannan Ravi on behalf of KRG Group Of Companies, directed by director Vikram Sukumaran and starring Shantanu, the film is a completely fictional story. Not a single scene in the film would hurt anyone regardless of caste, language, or affiliation.
Friends of the press and public, who watched the film at yesterday’s pre-release and special screening, have confirmed this and all of them have praised the film’s concept of unity and love among people.
Rumours have emerged that the film has hurt some ethnic groups are completely false. The film will not hurt anyone in any way. Please do not trust the rumours, seek a ban on the film and do not engage in activities aimed at rioting against the film.
Ravana Kottam film crew.”
