After much confusions and controversies, the Nadigar Sangam elections took place yesterday, with the contest happening between Nasser's Pandavar Ani and K Bhagyaraj's Swami Sankaradas team. Many prominent personalities of Kollywood arrived to cast their vote till evening.

On eve of the election, actor Shanthanu had criticized the usage of influencers to seek votes for this election, and had also said that people have a lot of social issues to look into rather than this election. He tweeted "Don understand d point of makin influencers post tweets here askin everyone to vote 4someone! #NadigarSangamElections D only truth d public need to know is d amount of nonsense that’s happening in d name of elections!All of us have a bonding beyond dis,bt it’s only getting dirty"

Besides he also made another tweet quoting one member of Pandavar ani questioning if Bhagyaraj was an actor, and mentioned Vishal, Karthi and said if they let set properties speak, it will impact relationships.
