Actress Tamannah has won the prestigious Shantha Ram Award for her performance in the 2008 film 'Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam'. The award was announced on the 13th of December. She is the only actress from South India to have won a Shantaram award.

Also, her director of the same film, Kishore Kumar (Dolly) has won the award in Best Debut Director category.

The Shantaram awards are given to all film industries, including Bollywood. Last year, it was A Wednesday which swept away most awards. V Shantaram is a powerful Hindi cinema name, who is said to have converted Bollywood into poetry. So awards named after him definitely have a gloss.

That is the reason why KIKK's director Kishore Kumar feels all the more happy. He says that sensitive emotions portrayed in the film has made it achieve the distinction.

KIKK will also be made in Hindi by Raja Shri Productions and Suresh Productions.
