Our exclusive with Captain Vijayakanth`s son Shanmugapandian revealed many hitherto unknown info about the film as well as provided some insights about this star kid who comes across as a down to earth person with much potential.

On the Delay of the Project

Shanmugapandian attributes his studies as the reason for the films delay as the shooting had to scheduled around his classes and examination schedules. Added to this the original director of this film Santhosh Kumar walked out of the project without citing a reason and could not be contacted again. Debutant Surendran took over and completed filming the script of Naveen Krishna.

About his role and the story!

Shanmugapandian says that his role is that of an ordinary youth who after finishing college goes abroad to make a living and the hurdles faced by him in an alien land forms the story.

On Romancing the two heroines

Shanmugapandian turns shy when questions about on screen romance came up where he revealed that he is an introvert and has very minimum conversations with girls. He met the heroines only during the shooting. But he was quick to assert that though both the heroines did not speak tamil it was easy working with them. Shanmugapandian said that life was usual at home but his friends pulled his leg often about romance scenes.

Confirms Presence of Captain Vijayakanth in Sagaptham!

Media reports said that Vijayakanth had denied making an appearance in the film but the hero Shanmugapandian confirmed that his illustrious father is indeed doing a role and appears along with him in a crucial scene.

On doing Action in the film

Shanmugapandian said that he enjoyed action sequences in Sagaptham` especially a sword fight in Bangkok for the climax with twenty five American fighters. There is a Bike chase as well as a boat chase in the film. He said that the script demanded foreign locations.

A Highlight Song!

For the opening song a thousand dancers have danced with Shanmugapandian and the hero said that the villagers turned the five days into a festival and gave so much cooperation for him. He added that it is not a mass song for him but a thiruvizha song. On Clashing with Kamal`s Uthama Villain! Shanmugapandian tells us that he is honoured that his film releases alongside the legends film and he admits that he is no competition for the legend.

On Karthik Raja`s Music!

Captain`s son is all praise for Karthik Raja who gave great songs and his personal favorite is the song rendered by Simbu, Andrea and Ramya Nambesan which I going was picturised on him and the two heroines.

On Captains Reaction to the film!

Shanmugapandian said that Vijayakanth never interfered with any aspect of the film and has reserved his comments till the movie hits the screens. April 2nd may well be the day for this Star Kid to make it big and we wish him all the Best.
