Kamal Haasan is going to go on a political tour in Tamil Nadu starting from February 21 and he has simultaneously planned to shoot for 'Indian2' ('Bharateeyudu-2' in Telugu), a magnum opus to be directed by Shankar. This is presumed to be a sequel to the duo's 1996 blockbuster 'Bharateeyudu'. The film had Kamal as an aged freedom fighter who decides to rid the society of the corrupt people even if it means to kill his own son (Kamal, again).
Director Shankar on Republic Day formally raised a toast to his upcoming project by letting an air balloon fly high in Taiwan. It's in this country that the great Subash Chandra Bose mysteriously disappeared while flying in a plane.
The film is produced by Lyca Productions and Anirudh is said to be on board to score music. The rest of the cast and crew will be announced soon.
