Bollywood's "Munnabhai M.B.B.S." continues to exert its influence in the south with its Tamil remake a hit and its Telugu version "Shankardada M.B.B.S." likely to go the same way if its audio is anything to go by.
The top five Telugu albums are:
1. "Shankardada M.B.B.S.": Young composer Devisri Prasad dishes out apt tunes to enthral fans of superstar Chiranjeevi. Most of the songs, including the title track, belong to the 'foot-tapping' variety. The audio is doing well even in remote areas. It has set new records and is bound to break a few more once the film is released in October.
2. "Sye": The combination of Rajamouli and Keeravani has resulted in yet another hit after "Student No 1" and "Simhadri". Keeravani rehashes a few old hits and caters to the youth. He has again proved that he can dish out a routine commercial album away from his usual melodies.
3. "Gudumba Sankar": Mani Sharma once again loses the first place to other composers after opening with record-breaking audio sales. The film's poor performance has drastically affected the audio sales. "Le le lele", however, will remain a chartbuster.
4. "Cheppave Chirugali": The heady-combination of Vikraman and S.A. Rajkumar fails to trigger a big response this time. Like their earlier albums, this one is also dominated by soft melodies, but these lack a repeat value.
5. "Gharshana": The audio is holding its place despite new releases thanks to Harris' special kind of music. Though the film has lost out, the album is selling. "Cheliya" has joined the musical hall of fame this year. "Andamma", too, is popular with the masses and the connoisseurs.
