Director Shankar known for his granduer style filmmaking is currently juggling two huge projects 'Indian 2' starring Kamal Haasan and 'RC15' starring Ram Charan both of which are pan Indian subjects. We broke the news first to you that Shankar will next will be the film adaptation of the historical novel 'Velpari' written by Su Venkatesan.

Suriya confirmed during the audio launch of 'Viruman' that he is working something big with Venkatesan who was one of the chief guests. This indirect confirmation suggests that Shankar and Suriya are finally uniting which we also reported earlier. It is also said that Yash and other pan Indian stars will costar.

Director Karthik Subbaraj in a recent interaction has also confirmed that Shankar will start preproduction work of Velpari in January 2023. He said that when he was asked by the senior filmmaker to write the screenplay for 'RC15' Shankar revealed this to him. The 'Mahaan' creator also stated that 'Velpari' wil be made in three parts with a budget of rupees thousand crores. It is also worth mentioning that Suriya's current project 'Suriya 42' directed by Siruthai Siva is made in two parts
