The whole of Tamil Nadu is talking about Sivaji, the biggie to beat all biggies on Tamil cinema screen. But what do the two who are at the heart of the film think about it?

Rajnikanth and Shankar, the hero and the film’s director, feel pretty chuffed about it all.

Shankar, in an interview to a Tamil magazine, has said that Sivaji has given him more satisfaction than any of his previous movies.

Shankar has directed some explosive blockbusters like Indian, Anniyan and Mudhalvan (to name just a few). So for him to feel better about Sivaji than these tells a tale by itself.

Shankar said that since the project has some of best technical and artistic minds in the business, it had to be shot for over a year.

But at the end of it all, it is worth it.

What is Rajni’s view?

Well, according to Shankar, Rajni kept praising every scene during the shoot.

“I have not acted in any film remotely close to this”, Rajni is reported to have said.

But what is the story? Shankar, as ever, presents a straight bat.

“It is about a man with high ideals who wants to do something for the society. It is about educational system also”.

On the whole, Shankar has upped the ante on Sivaji.
