Director Shankar has been the constant innovator in Tamil cinema which trait has earned him the respect of his contemporaries in other languages too. The veteran's recent grand spectacle '2.0' starring Superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar challenged even Hollywood films with the technical wizardry and action sequences.
Shankar is currently directing 'Indian 2' starring Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh and Priya Bhavani Shankar which has seen some unfortunate delays further affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Since the film needs some extensive crowds in almost all scenes it has been reportedly decided to shoot scenes not involving Kamal in the coming months. Later Kamal's shots are expected to be canned once the general elections are completed according to sources.
