Shankar Mahadevan, the prominent multi-lingual singing talent and music composer, has spotted pure talent in a farmer named Rakesh Unni. Someone had sent him a video clip of this young Tamil Nadu farmer singing a number with complex notes to perfection.
Buoyed upon discovering this talent by chance, Shankar tweeted saying, "This is called fruit of labour! When we hear this, it just makes me feel so so proud of our country that produces so much talent and is so rich in culture. Who is this guy? How can I trace him? Need help & would like to work with him."
And with the help of his followers on Twitter, the singer-composer finally found Rakesh's whereabouts. "I had posted about this very special and talented farmer Rakesh Unni and I have just been able to find him through the reach of the internet, I spoke with him and will now take things forward! I would like to thank each one of you for the tremendous love and support," Shankar today said.
He is composing the music for 'Saaho' in company with Ehsaan and Loy.
