Shankar cosies up to Chiru camp

With South India's craziest director Shankar agreeing to make it to the audio release function of Ram Charan's Racha, scheduled to be held on March 4, one can safely presume that the creator is cozying up to the Chiranjeevi camp. (Or rather, it is the Mega family which is warming up to the director). What you need to take note of is the fact that the audio release function will be held not in Hyderabad, but some other place (Kurnool town). Even more interesting is the fact that it is not an indoor affair, but a much-publicised event for which the public are expected to turn out in lakhs.

Can we read more into Shankar's presence at the event? Definitely, yes. It was at the audio launch of Robo (Telugu version of Enthiran) that Chirajeevi famously said that he was ready to don the greasepaint if Shankar were to offer him a film. For a director like him who is well aware of the fact that he is as popular, if not more, in Andhra Pradesh as in Tamil Nadu, the Mega Star's statement must have been music to his ears. Quick note: Chirajeevi, now a politician, had officially bid goodbye to films, only to speak about making a brief comeback if only the director is Shankar!

Circa 2012, in the month of January, speaking at the audio launch of Snehithudu (Telugu version of Nanban), son Charan emphatically stated that he would have acted in the 3 Idiots remake had he been told by the producer that Shankar was the director. Now we hear that Shankar is the chief guest at the audio release function of his mega-budgeted film.

Can we say that Shankar will one day make a film in Telugu, and in all probability, it will be with someone from the Mega family? If yes, who will he select as the hero? Father or son? Nine out of 10 will say that if Shankar is making a Shivaji, the hero will be Chiru; if he is making a Premikudu, it will be Cherry. In any case, a film in their combination will surely set the BO on fire!

Will an indication be made on March 4? Let's wait and watch.
