Director Khalid Rahman is known for his critically acclaimed super hit flicks - 'Anuraga Karikkin Vellam' starring Biju Menon and Asif Ali in the lead roles and Mammootty's 'Unda'. Post the success of the Mammootty starrer cop story 'Unda', director Khalid Rahman announced a movie with Shane Nigam. Ashiq Usman, the producer of the flick had also unveiled a casting call for the project.

The recent update is that the movie has been shelved for obvious reasons regarding the lead actor. As the ongoing controversies between Shane Nigam and the Kerala Film Producers Council have not been resolved yet, the Khalid Rahman directorial is said to be shelved.

It is reported that Ashiq Usman and Khalid Rahman have decided to team up for another film, which will have Tovino Thomas and Sharafudheen in the lead roles. The movie was announced recently through the producer's social media handle. Written by Muhasin Parari and Ashraf Hamza, the movie's Cinematography is by Jimshi Khalid. The songs of the movie will be composed by Rex Vijayan and Shahabaz Aman. Background music is by Sushin Shyam.

It may be noted that Shane Nigam’s character in his previously announced projects has also been replaced. He was supposed to act in Tamil films – ‘Spa’ directed by National award winner Seenu Ramasamy and ‘Cobra’ with Vikram. Due to the ongoing rift between Shane and the producer's association, the actor has been replaced in both the films.
