Kumbalangi Nights fame Shane Nigam and veteran actress Revathi are teaming up for the first time for an upcoming movie titled 'Bhoothakaalam'. Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, who has previously made the film ‘Red Rain’, the movie's first look poster was launched on October 4 evening. The poster features both the actors in an intense avatar and had grabbed the attention of many. Apart from playing the male lead, Shane Nigam is also doing the music and lyrics for the film.

Teresa Rani and Shane Nigam’s mother Sunila Habeeb are producing the film under the banners of Plan T Films and Shane Nigam Films. Others in the cast include Saiju Kurup, James Eliya, ‘Angamaly Diaries’ fame Athira Patel, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Manju Pathrose, Riyaz Narmakala, and Valsala Menon. Rahul Sadasivan has scripted the film along with Sreekumar Shreyas. The movie's cinematography is by Shehanad Jalal and the editing is by Shafique Mohamed Ali. Gopi Sundar is in charge of the background scores and MR Rajakrishnan is handling audiography department for the film.

While Revathi’s last routing was ‘Navarasa', Shane Nigam was last seen in 'Valiyaperunnal’. He also has a lineup of films such as ‘Veyil’, ‘Ullasam’, ‘Qurbani’, ‘Qualb’, ‘Bermuda’, and ‘Painkili’.
