'Shamitabh' latest: R.Balki says Eros made it better and bigger

Following the phenomenal success of English Vinglish worldwide, Eros International Media Limited ("Eros"), a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry and R. Balki, once again come together for the filmmaker`s ambitious venture, Shamitabh. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush and Akshara Haasan, the film will release worldwide on February 6th, 2015.

Shamitabh, one of the most anticipated films of next year, is a drama which also marks the acting debut of Akshara Haasan, daughter of Kamal Haasan and Sarika.

R. Balki shares, "This film is my third collaboration with Eros. They had partnered me in Cheeni Kum, English Vinglish and now Shamitabh. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Radhakrishnan Damani, Abhishek Bachchan, Gauri and myself are glad to have Eros as the co producer on this project too. The film couldn't have got a better marketing and distribution team to back it".

Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd said, "Shamitabh is an exciting collaboration with Balki whose films feature contemporary themes with strong content and fabulous casting. With this film, we wish to present a heartwarming story that will entertain fans and audiences with an unforgettable experience".

After a stellar performance in Raanjhanaa marking his Hindi film debut, award winning actor Dhanush will now be seen in Shamitabh. The film also marks Balki`s third directorial venture with superstar Amitabh Bachchan. The sound track and background score of the film is composed by the inimitable Ilaiyaraaja with cinematography by the legendary PC Sreeram.
