Earlier this month, Ch Sujatha, the Mandal Revenue Officer of Shaikpet, found herself in the dock when the Anti Corruption Bureau arrested her in connection with a corruption probe. She was named in a shady land deal pertaining to Road No.14 of Hyderabad's Banjara Hills. The ACB's timely raid of Sujatha's residence in Gandhi Nagar led to the unearthing of gold jewellery and more than Rs 30 lakh.

The news is that Sujatha's 40-year-old husband Ajay Kumar, who works as an assistant professor at Osmania University, was on Tuesday found dead in Hyderabad.

The police said that it was a case of death by suicide. Ajay Kumar was depressed following the arrest of his wife. Not only was he upset over being questioned in the corruption case but also because his wife was denied bail, a report by The Hindu says.
