Actor Kamal Haasan had directed and acted in the movie Hey Ram, which was released in 2000, and the movie had completed 20 years since its release yesterday. The movie was about Saket Ram played by Kamal Haasan, who wants to kill Mahatma Gandhi, and ultimately realizes the truths about him.

Hey Ram was released simultaneously in Tamil and Hindi, and the movie also marked the Tamil debut of Hindi actors Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukerjhi. They had both dubbed in their own voices in Tamil as well. Hey Ram also stars Vasundhara Das, Atul Kulkarni, Abbas, Nasser and Naseeruddin Shah and had music by Ilaiyarajaa.

Now, an old video of Kamal Haasan disclosing the shocking salary of Shahrukh Khan for acting in Hey Ram, has turned viral. Kamal Haasan has revealed in the video that Shahrukh Khan did not take any remuneration for the movie and all that he got from Kamal was only a wrist watch, as the movie had exceeded its budget. Now Shahrukh Khan has got the Hindi rights of Hey Ram from Bharat Shah.
