King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan might have a God like status in many parts of the world but the superstar has irked many followers of Mother Mary who visit the most popular Bandra fair in Mumbai at Mount Marry Church close to his residence.

According to reports the Mumbai police after getting criticized for their ‘behaviour’ against SRK during the famous spat between MCA members (Mumbai Cricket Association) and SRK at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium during the IPL finals last time has disallowed thousands of pilgrims to take Cement Road, which leads from bus stop opposite SRK’s residence Mannat to Mount Mary Church, to maintain peace and calm for the superstar and his family members 's at home.

The Mumbai police have given orders to put barricades on Cement Road, Bandra, and the work has started from yesterday as you see in the picture.

Fortunately for the star and unfortunately for the pilgrims the cops in order to ensure a smooth and convenient passage to pilgrims has ended up in maintaining extra peace and silence around SRk’s residence Mannat.

Irked by this special treatment given to the actor the local residents, organisations and even the fair organisers have sent letters to the Bandra police and the BMC, pleading that the road be made accessible, as the church is five minutes away from it.

In a recent development the Association of Concerned Catholics (AOCC), Maharashtra Christian Youth Forum, Catholic Organisation For Social Service (Cross) have also join in to voice their displeasure.

The cops however claim that the barricades are part of their plan and keeping it open will invite risks and cause a law and order problem considering a high profile celebrity resides on the path.

The Bandra Fair is a very popular spiritual event in Mumbai where thousands and thousands of devotees come every year.. this time due to the barricades many may lose their bread and butter as stalls won,t be allowed on the Cement Road...
