There has been a buzz in the year that since Shahrukh Khan is a close friend and also a co-producer of Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year', he would be seen in a guest appearance or at least a cameo in the film.More so since as a producer of 'Always Kabhi Kabhi', Shahrukh had appeared in a special song and dance number (Antenna).

However Karan is quick to quash all speculations about Shahrukh's presence in 'Student of the Year'.

"No, Shahrukh won't be there in front of the camera", says Karan, "He plays the biggest part of being a co-producer in the film though. I didn't expect anything else from him though since he is emotionally and professionally connected to the film in any case."

Getting a tad emotional, he adds, "In fact I was extremely touched and honoured when Shahrukh consented to giving a moral support to the film and also lent his name. Moreover, creatively too he was always there for the film.

He is extremely encouraging to new talent in the industry and when it comes to Siddharth, Varun and Alia, he has gone out of the way to cheer them on."

About the eventual content of the film, he throws a word of caution before signing off, "See, 'Student of the Year' has a very simple screenplay. It is not a path breaking story but eventually takes audience through an entertaining ride.

It is all heart and that's the way it should be seen."

With Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in lead roles and Rishi Kapoor playing a Dean, 'Student of the Year' has music by Vishal-Shekhar and releases all over on 19th October.
