Shahid Kapoor starrer sports drama film 'Jersey' now has a release date. According to Shahid's latest Instagram post, jersey is set to hit theaters on Diwali 2021. The project wrapped up a few weeks ago. Shahid's post featured a still of himself from the film and a caption that read, "JERSEY releasing in theatres this DIWALI 5th November 2021. The triumph of the human spirit. A journey I am so very proud of. This ones for the TEAM…"

Shahid devoted himself to the project and shared a lot of posts while working on the film. It is a remake of 2019 Telugu film of the same name. It showcases a story about a washed up cricketer who decides to return to the game in his late 30s. It features Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in pivotal roles.

The film is being directed by Gowtum Tinnanuri, who also directed the original Telugu version.
