Shahid Kapoor Too Pulled Out Of IIFA 2018

The 19th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2018 is all set to kick-start in another two days in Bangkok, Thailand. As the preparations were going on in full-swing, there comes this news, which broke many of our hearts. Shahid Kapoor who is busy with the shooting of ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is said to be unable to perform in the gig, thereby disappointing his fans.

After Vaani Kapoor had backed out of the function, Shahid Kapoor who was scheduled to put up a power-packed performance on June 24 at the awards night had also backed off owing to his back injury that he had sustained during the shooting of his upcoming project ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’. A source stated, “Despite suffering a major back injury while shooting in Tehri last week, Shahid continued filming as he was required to wrap up the movie by mid-June. After returning to Mumbai earlier this week, he promptly dived into the dance rehearsals for his IIFA gig. It was while attempting a tricky step that he suffered a back spasm and was advised against any strenuous activity by the doctor. Although Shahid was scheduled to fly out to Thailand last night, he called off the plan. The IIFA organisers were fairly understanding about it."

Helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, the actor will be next seen in ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ opposite to Shraddha Kapoor. After which he will be seen preparing for the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit ‘Arjun Reddy’.

Looks like the actor will be spending his unplanned break with his wife, Mira, who is expecting their second child and his adorable lil munchkin Misha. Though the fans are heartbroken with the news, we wish him a speedy recovery.
