Looks like the queen of South Indian cinema Samantha will soon make her Bollywood debut as a heroine. Actor Shahid Kapoor recently showered praise on Samantha Akkineni for her performance in ‘The Family Man 2’ and expressed his desire to work with her.

Samantha made her Hindi digital debut with ‘The Family Man 2’ where she essayed the role of the Sri Lankan Tamil Liberation fighter Raji. While the action drama garnered a phenomenal response for the first season, Samantha stole the show of the second season with her outstanding performance. Though the actress earlier received a lot of flak from political leaders, audiences and celebrities praised her for her phenomenal performance. Samantha also won the Best Performance in Female (Series) at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.

In a Q&A session with his fans on Twitter, Shahid recently replied to several questions put forth by his fans. When one asked about his thoughts on Samantha’s performance in ‘The Family man 2’, Shahid replied, “Totally loved her on the show. Would love to work with her sometime.”

On the work front, Shahid Kapoor is working with The Family Man series director Raj & Dk on a new web series titled Sunny, co-starring Raashii Khanna, Regina Cassandra and Vijay Sethupathi. The yet-to-be-titled web series is a thriller-comedy that will stream on Amazon Prime Video. On the other hand, Samantha is waiting for the release of her mythological drama 'Shakuntalam'.
