Shahid Kapoor's 'Jersey' will release on this day

Maharashtra government recently announced that the ban on movie theatres in the state will finally lift on 22nd of October. Soon after this news, several filmmakers announced the release dates of their projects. Shahid Kapoor also revealed the release date of his much anticipated sports film 'Jersey'. Although it was originally going to release in October, 'Jersey' will now hit the screens on 31st of December 2021.
Shahid will be seen in the role of a cricketer in the film and his fans are desperate to witness him in the role. He'll play a washed up cricketer who returns back to the game long after his prime to fulfill his son's wish. Shahid shared a pic of himself on Instagram all geared up for batting. He captioned the post as, "JERSEY releasing 31st December 2021.”
The film will also star Mrunal Thakur in a pivotal role. 'Jersey' is a remake of Telugu film of the same name. With this film releasing on New Year's eve and Kabir Khan's '83' releasing on Christmas Day, the festival season is surely going to have a cricketing atmosphere.
