Shahid Kapoor's 2019 film 'Kabir Singh' was a game changer for his career. It shot him to new levels of popularity and also proved that he can swiftly portray dark and intense characters. During a recent media interaction, Shahid stated that 'Kabir Singh' was a family movie of sorts and that's surprising considering the tone and mature content of the film.
In an interview with Bombay Times, Shahid said, "My last film, Kabir Singh, was technically an adult film, but the number of people who have liked it and watched it with their families is unbelievable. Somehow, it made it to the family space despite being edgy and aggressive."
At the time of its release, 'Kabir Singh' attracted controversies for its content which normalised drug abuse and violence in relationships. However, despite all that, the film managed to make 377 crore rupees and was one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.
On the work front, Shahid was last seen in sports drama 'Jersey' and he'll soon be making his OTT debut with an Amazon Prime series.
