Pakistan’s prominent cricketer Afridi was recently in the news for all the wrong reasons. His statements on UN’s intervention in Kashmir issue received flak from India’s well known players including Kapil Dev, Virat Kohli, Sachin, Gambhir, Raina etc.

Meanwhile Afridi’s latest statement pertaining to IPL seems to have a controversial flavour as well. In an interview to a Pakistan news channel, the cricketer has revealed that he wouldn’t accept an invitation to IPL. Stating that Pakistan Super League was more important to him, Afridi also said that PSL would fare better than IPL in the near future.

It is worth noting here that during the 2008 IPL, in which Afridi played for Deccan Chargers, had expressed that playing in IPL was a memorable experience. He also had opined that the IPL tournament was the best devised format.
