There is an interesting development in town. While it has been finalised that Shah Rukh Khan has roped in Rohit Shetty to direct a film for him, this is only for the second time in last one decade that the superstar would be working with a director who comes with a vast experience in filmmaking. Before Rohit, Shah Rukh in recent past has worked with Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, Farah Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ashutosh Gowariker and Farhan Akhtar. Though all of them have been big names, none of them has directed as many films as Rohit.

In fact the only experienced director that Shah Rukh Khan has worked right through the decade gone by is Yash Chopra who made 'Veer Zaara' in the interim period.

Says an industry veteran, "Rohit brings in huge experience on table. With seven releases in eight years gone by and not a single flop to his name, Rohit is indeed the numero uno commercial director in the running today. There have been only a couple of films directed by Rohit that haven't done hit business, namely 'Zameen' and 'Sunday'. Still, they managed to recover costs at the least."

Adds another source, "On the other hand his 'Golmaal' franchise is a big success, 'All The Best' a hit and 'Singham' a blockbuster. It made sense for Shah Rukh to rope in Rohit for his home production. With the kind of commercial mindset that both Shah Rukh as well as Rohit carry, it would be a lethal combination."
