Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan was spotted for the first time since his son Aryan's arrest on October 8 in connection to a drugs on cruise case. The actor was visiting Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail to meet Aryan Khan, who was denied bail yesterday.
Aryan Khan had earlier spoken with Shah Rukh and mother Gauri Khan via a video call as the Maharashtra government only recently eased restrictions on jail visits amid the pandemic. Claiming that Aryan was involved in illicit drug activities, a Mumbai court denied him bail for the second time yesterday. "WhatsApp chats prima facie reveals accused Aryan Khan is dealing in illicit drug activities for narcotic substances on regular basis. Therefore, it cannot be said that Khan is not likely to commit similar offence while on bail," the judge had reportedly mentioned in his order.
Aryan Khan was arrested earlier this month after a team of NCB officials busted a rave party onboard a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai. He was later booked under Sections 27 (punishment for consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance), 8C (produce, manufacture, possess, sell or purchase of drugs) and other relevant provisions of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).
