At the 77th Locarno Film Festival, Shah Rukh Khan grabbed the stage and candidly spoke with the creative director, Giona A Nazzaro. Shah Rukh discussed his career and some of his favorite performers, stressing his respect for Jackie Chan throughout the conversation. When his son Aryan Khan was born, he said he thought Aryan looked like the legendary Drunken Master celebrity. "Jackie Chan is among my all-time favorite performers," Shah Rukh stated. "He acts beautifully, physically spectacular, and is humorous. I thought Aryan looked rather like Jackie Chan when he was born. Hoping he would grow up like him, I even taught him taekwondo.
Shah Rukh remembered pleasantly meeting Jackie Chan a few years ago in Saudi Arabia, calling him "sweet and humble" like he had always expected. He also highlighted a funny promise Chan made to build a Chinese restaurant joint-venture. As he regards Chan as one of his favorite performers, Shah Rukh also paid homage to him through references in his 2011 superhero picture ‘Ra.One’. Along with Michael J. Fox, Al Pacino, and Robert De Niro.
At the Locarno Film Festival, Shah Rukh created history on August 10 by being the first Indian to get the esteemed lifetime achievement award, the Pardo alla Carriera (Career Leopard). While Aryan is poised to make his directing debut on the show ‘Stardom’, his next movie, ‘King’, is much awaited. Jackie Chan is presently shooting the sequel of ‘Karate Kid’.
