Shah Rukh Khan's grand return to the big screen with Dunki is creating a stir, even before its release on Thursday. Dubai witnessed a dazzling spectacle on Tuesday as drones lit up the night sky, forming Shah Rukh's name, his iconic pose, and even an airplane! Adding to the magic, Dunki's trailer graced the iconic Burj Khalifa, leaving audiences awestruck.
Shah Rukh, along with director Rajkumar Hirani and writer Abhijat Joshi, soaked in the Dubai launch firsthand. The star looked effortlessly cool in a black T-shirt, denim jeans, a red jacket, and his signature sunglasses.
Dunki, an ensemble cast featuring Shah Rukh, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and others, promises a heartwarming tale of friendship and chasing dreams. Four friends, Manu, Sukhi, Buggu, and Balli, embark on an arduous journey to reach London, hoping for a better life. But this path is paved with challenges that will ultimately transform them.
A new poster unveiled by Shah Rukh captures the bittersweet essence of the film. It shows him, Taapsee, and Vikram with their backs to the camera, symbolizing leaving loved ones behind but eventually finding your way home, guided by those same connections.
The film's inspiration is equally intriguing. In a recent video, Rajkumar Hirani revealed that the story was sparked by the sight of a house in Punjab with a giant airplane replica on its roof, a common symbol of families with members abroad. This led him to explore the "donkey route," an illegal way for visa-challenged individuals to leave India for countries like the UK and Canada.
Dunki promises a unique blend of humor, adventure, and emotional resonance, driven by Shah Rukh's undeniable charm and Hirani's masterful storytelling. With its grand Dubai launch and intriguing narrative, Dunki is poised to be a major cinematic event.
