After days of speculations and controversy stories, news is now abuzz that Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri have officially become the parents of a baby boy. The Khan pariwar reported to have welcomed their third child, a surrogate baby born on May 27.
For days, there was much anticipation from BMC side over the birth reports of the baby. And when it arrived, the reports, according to a BMC official, read that the childs birth took place at Masrani Hospital for Women in Andheri and was born at 34 weeks of pregnancy and weighed 1.5kg at birth.
It is reported that the baby was taken from Masrani to Nanavati Hospital, Juhu, and finally to Breach Candy Hospital and currently in Khans house. Although there are no official details about the surrogate mother, speculations are rife that Gauri's London-based sister-in-law, Namita Chibber may have been the surrogate mother.
Incidentally, controversy had set off over the sex of the child. As the news wide spread that SRK is going to have a boy baby through surrogacy, Indian Radiological and Imaging Associations (IRIA) fumed over the fact as to how the parents came to know about the sex of the child, since sex-determination is illegal in India.
