With an estimated fortune of ₹7,300 crore, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has guaranteed a place on the Hurun Rich List for 2024. At 58, Khan has developed a thriving commercial empire outside of performing. His riches has been much raised by his production firm Red Chillies Entertainment and his ownership in Kolkata Knight Riders, who won the Indian Premier League 2024 championship.

On social media, Khan also rules, with 44.1 million X followers, more than other billionaires and celebrities on the list.

Other Bollywood stars on the list are Juhi Chawla, with a worth of ₹4,600 crore, and Hrithik Roshan, with ₹2,000 crore. Roshan controls the athleisure brand HRX; Chawla, a business partner with Khan, co-owns the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Fourth with a worth of ₹1,600 crore mostly from assets is legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and his family. With an estimated worth of ₹1,400 crore, Director-producer Karan Johar rounds out the top five powered by the success of his production company, Dharma Productions.

With 1,539 people with a net worth of more than ₹1,000 crore—an increase of 220 persons from last year—the 2024 Hurun India Rich List shows India now has With Gautam Adani and his family dominating the list with a net worth of ₹11.6 trillion, the industrial sector has notably helped to drive this increase. Though they come from 134 places around India, most of the billionaires in India live in Mumbai.
