The actor who most often played Tamil’s cinema’s forlorn lover, Shaam, is all set to kick some butt now. Shaam is geared up to shed his lover boy looks and go in for the rugged action hero look with his Telugu debut 'Kick'.

Teaming up for Shaam in this film is Ravi Teja. Shaam plays a cop for the first time in this movie which sees him paired with Ileana.

Shaam entered filmdom through director Jeeva’s ’12 B’ in which he played the role of a boy next door. His other films, like the acclaimed 'Ei Nee Romba Azhaga Irukka', 'Iyarkai' or 'Lesa Lesa' only increased his popularity as the romantic hero, while his film as a rogue, 'Bala', did not make it big. This was responsible for the actor to be confined to boy-next-door roles, which kept rolling one after the other with no fizz.

Hopefully, this shift to Tollywood should bring luck to the actor, who also has a Bollywood project in hand. A few sequences of Kick have been canned in Hyderabad’s leading Urudu College, while the crew will soon fly to Switzerland and Malaysia to shoot extensively, for 45 days.
