'Shaakuntalam' Trailer: Dramatic, performance-centric

The trailer for 'Shaakuntalam' was unveiled today. What is a striking feature is that the visuals give the confidence that the film will be a treat in 3D.
The love story between the titular character (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) and Dushantha (Dev Mohan) is dramatized. The actors appear to have acted by imagining objects, including wild animals such as tigers. The action sequences appear sincere.
Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr. M Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, and Jisshu Sengupta will be seen in different roles. Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla will be seen as the heroine's friends.
The film, directed by Gunasekhar, will be hitting the screens on April 14 in 2D and 3D. Produced by Neelima Guna, the film features an ensemble cast. The makers have not revealed a thing about Allu Arha, who is debuting in a 15-minute role, successfully maintaining suspense.
The film has music by Mani Sharma. Edited by Prawin Pudi, its cinematography is by Shekar V Joseph. With the lyrics penned by Chaitanya Prasad and Shreemani, the songs have been choreographed by Raju Sundaram.
