Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar
Pick up a bunch of men who have been married for more than 5 years and you may invariably find the majority saying - "Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar!" This may be in good humor but fact cannot be denied that every married man has a story to be told about himself and his married life. One such story is told in K.S Adhiyaman directed 'Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar' that stars Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty in the lead.
Ayaan [Salman Khan] and Ahana [Shilpa Shetty] are two young people truly in love. With their young hearts beating for each other and love blooming in a big way, the next obvious step for them was to get married. With the film's plot coming straight to the point, one wonders whether there was any opposition in their journey of love? No, there wasn't any because unlike innumerous love stories that fail to culminate into a logical end, the love story of Ayaan and Ahana was progressing pretty smooth. Both were young, independent and above all financially secure. The only difference? Their upbringing and cultural differences! But none of these showed up in their courtship period, as love chose to keep such factors a distant away. Yes, they did resurface once the weeks flew by but more about that later!
Both Ayaan and Ahana had a lot to look forward to from the life that followed. Inspite of Ahana coming from an upper class family with a liberal approach towards a lifestyle, there was not much worry for Ayaan since he too had his upper middle class upbringing to make him understand the varied lifestyle. But did it prove to become too much and too hot to handle after the honeymoon period got over?
Once the sweet and saccharine period after marriage was through, realization stuck both with number of incidents that truly highlighted the difference in their upbringing and class. What followed from here were a series of sweet'n'sour moments that made Ayaan quip time and again - 'Shaadi Karke Phans Gaya Yaar'. Instead of things taking an ugly turn, the point of contention mainly revolved around small nitty gritties of life. If Ahana wanted to wear short clothes due to her modeling background, Ayaan instead preferred her to go a little slow since she was married now and staying with his family. On the other hand Ahana had plans of shifting to their own home outside!
In spite of realizing that it wasn't the most ideal outing for him and his wife, he chose to get things in place by trying to keep equilibrium between his family and his wife. While Ahana tended to put forth her demands, Ayaan's cool'n'composed nature tried to keep things under control.
But all this for how long?
Would Ayaan's patience wear out one fine day? Would he be able to strike the right balance between his personal life, his wife's demands and expectations from his own family? Would Ahana realize one day that a little change and compromise could manage to bring peace and harmony in this small'n'happy family?
A film abound with comical moments, this family social produced by Bubby Kent with screenplay by Rumi Jaffery [who has written for number of David Dhawan films in the past] also stars Reema Lagu, Mohnish Behl, Asif Sheikh and Shakti Kapur. After being pushed for number of years now, SKPGY finally releases on August 04, a week before Shahrukh Khan's 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' arrives!
