With a number of allegations of sexual misconduct against film industry personalities in the past week, Siddharth has urged journalists to corroborate allegations where it's needed.
"Responsible journalists must get into the details, corroborate witness testimony and publish detailed finding. In case of anonymous accusers, the person who outs in their name must take responsibility to verify authenticity. This method has worked in the west," he says.
"To the women helping anonymous survivors out their abusers, a word of caution. There's no harm in waiting, collecting details, formulating them clearly before presenting. Resist this urge to out soon as you discover! Your anger is real. Take your time!" he writes.
The 'Bommarillu' and 'Gruham' actor dares Kollywood. "Tamil Cinema took to the streets when #Jayalalithaa was arrested on corruption charges. I have faith that #ProducersCouncil and #NadigarSangam will come together soon and create a safe environment for survivors in this movement. Let's talk, Vishal," Sid further says.
