Sevvel
After a break, actor-director Raj Kiran is back on silver screen playing an important role in a movie titled Sevvel. Says Raj Kiran, `I play the role of an elderly parent in Sevvel, which is about emotions between father and son. The storyline is good and debutante director Primus deserves credit for churning out the movie which is likely to appeal to the masses.'
The movie has Jai Akash, newcomer Misha, Kalabhavan Mani, Livingston, Illavarasu, Senthil and Ponnambalam in the cast. Primus, who had worked as an assistant to various cinematographers before, says, `it is a great feeling to direct a film. Sevvel is the story of a son and father who team up to take revenge on enemies, which is narrated in a different manner.'
A major portion of the movie was shot in exotic locales of Sri Lanka. A couple of songs were shot in Asia's biggest golf course near Colombo, an exotic waterfalls attracting tourists from various countries and Colombo's harbor. The movie is almost nearing completion and would be released in November.
On his role, Jai Akash, says, `I am elated to see offers coming my way. Ramakrishna would finally get released this month. I have been assigned to act opposite actress Simran in Kicha 16.' On his role in Sevvel, he says, `it is a good story to work on. I play a law college student.'
A Mumbai girl Misha plays the ladylove to Jai Akash. She says, `though this is my first venture in Tamil, I made my screen debut with a Hindi film Dost, Dosti, Dostana, a remake of Tamil hit, Friends.'
