Seven killed in Kedarnath chopper crash

Earlier today, tragedy struck in Uttarakhand when a helicopter carrying pilgrims to Kedarnath from Phata crashed. Seven casualties have been confirmed.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the helicopter crash was extremely unfortunate. "We are in touch with the State government to ascertain the magnitude of the loss, and are constantly monitoring the situation," he added.
Reporting on the accident, journalist Deeksha Negi tweeted, "A helicopter carrying Kedarnath pilgrims from Phata crashes. Six dead.. including 2 pilots. The administration team has left for the spot for relief and rescue work." One more casualty was confirmed a while ago, bringing the tally to seven.
The death of the pilgrims has been condoled by several leaders across India.
