The ISIS group claimed that it had abducted and later killed two young Chinese teachers, Li Zingyang and Meng Lisi, near Quetta in Baluchistan. While the Chinese government has had a mild response to this over its “ally” Pakistan, Chinese Internet users want to bring the perpetrators to justice. Over social media websites, Chinese citizens have demanded that China send troops to Pakistan, according to the South China Morning Post.

It is also reported that Chinese officials have tried to play down the gravity of the situation and even tried to convince citizens that the victims were preachers and had irked many people. But South Korean officials claim that the two were in fact language teachers. Some social media users have gone so far as to say that violence should be fought with violence and urged the government to take a bold action.
