The fond wish of many a Dhanush-Selvaraghavan fan is a sequel to their critically acclaimed super hit 'Pudhupettai' that released in 2006 and remains the definitive textbook for gangster films in Tamil cinema. Selvaraghavan has stated that he would surely make the part two in the future.

However, Selva has thrown the surprise that his burning desire is to make a sequel to his 'Aayirathil Oruvan' starring Karthi, Andrea, Reema Sen and Parthiban released in 2010. He feels that the journey of the ancient Chozha king should continue. The maverick director meanwhile is busy directing Suriya, Rakul Preet and Sai Pallavi in 'NGK' that is progressing at a brisk pace.
