Ace director Selvaraghavan recently made his acting debut alongside Thalapathy Vijay in Nelson Dilipkumar's 'Beast'. Meanwhile, it is already known that Selvaraghavan is playing the intense lead role in director Arun Matheshwaran's next 'Saani Kaayidham'.
Arun Matheshwaran, who made an impressive debut last year with the critically acclaimed film 'Rocky', is back with yet another revenge drama that is set in the 1980s. 'Saani Kaayidham' has the National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh playing the step-sister of Selvaraghavan.
Keerthy Suresh took to her social media page to launch the teaser of 'Saani Kaayidham', today. As we reported earlier, the movie is all set to release directly on Amazon Prime Video on May 6. The 1.5-minute-long video opens with Keerthy Suresh delivering a monologue about seeking revenge and justice while we see sharp parallel cuts of the war between Keerthy and Selva shown in monochromatic shots.
We get to see an impeccable performance from Keerthy Suresh after a long time, which is supported by a kickass background score by Sam CS, top-notch visuals by Yamini Yagnamurthy and Nagooran's cuts. Dhilip Subburayan has taken care of the stunt choreography while the movie also stars Kanna Ravi, Murugadass and many others in the supporting roles.
The film's synopsis read, "Ponni (Keerthy Suresh), working as a constable, living with her five year old daughter Dhanna and her husband Mari, who is working as coolie in a rice mill, but with his involvement in the local politics, tensions rise with him and his higher cast employers, who rape his wife Ponni and brutally murder him and their and daughter by burning them alive in their hut house. A devastated Ponni along with her step brother Sangaiya (Selvaraghavan) take the case to the court for justice, but the court denies them justice, so both driven to rage they both take revenge on the people that wronged them."
